So of course I had no choice but to purchase TJ\u2019s version for one of my typically OCD A\/B tests.<\/p>\n<p>Trader Joe\u2019s product comes to us from the O&#038;H Danish Bakery in Racine, Wisconsin, a family business that\u2019s been making kringler and sharing hygge since 1949, so their Danish culinary bona fides are well established; their website, ohdanishbakery.com, touts some 23 tempting flavors but I suspect TJ\u2019s offers only almond.<\/p>\n<p><em>(Click on any image to view it in high resolution.)<\/em><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/ethnojunkie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/DCCO3752.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ethnojunkie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/DCCO3752.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1440\" height=\"1440\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10349\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ethnojunkie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/DCCO3752.jpg 1440w, https:\/\/ethnojunkie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/DCCO3752-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ethnojunkie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/DCCO3752-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ethnojunkie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/DCCO3752-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/ethnojunkie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/DCCO3752-768x768.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1440px) 100vw, 1440px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nTJ\u2019s is filled with a rich, dense almond paste and adorned with a lemony glaze. I told you I was OCD.<\/p>\n<p>The verdict. They were different, and both were certainly good in their own fashion as described above. Then again, Holtermann\u2019s cost $22 and involved a subway ride, a ferry crossing, and no small amount of time getting there and back again, but at $7.99 for a similar confection, I can walk to TJ\u2019s in about half an hour and probably burn off some of those kringle kalories while I\u2019m at it! \ud83d\ude09<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Holtermann\u2019s vs Trader Joe&#8217;s.
