{"id":18121,"date":"2022-09-09T07:14:33","date_gmt":"2022-09-09T11:14:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ethnojunkie.com\/?p=18121"},"modified":"2022-09-09T07:14:33","modified_gmt":"2022-09-09T11:14:33","slug":"chuseok-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ethnojunkie.com\/?p=18121","title":{"rendered":"Chuseok &#8211; 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chuseok (\ucd94\uc11d) or Hangawi (literally \u201cautumn evening\u201d) is a major mid-autumn festival in Korea celebrated this year from September 9th though the 12th; because it\u2019s a harvest festival, it\u2019s sometimes referred to as \u201cKorean Thanksgiving\u201d. Needless to say there are traditional foods and even traditional table settings.<\/p>\n<p>I wish I could say that these photos are part of that tradition, but they are, nevertheless, quintessentially Korean dishes from my local Korean deli. In the center there&#8217;s spicy baby radish kimchi: the leaves and stems are topped by slices of the root which was about four inches long before I got to it.
