In Polish, the letter Y sounds like a short I, so the singular, pyza, rhymes with \u201cis a\u201d \u2013 which explains why, although tempting, the title of this post isn\u2019t Easy Pyzy.<\/p>\n<p>Now that that\u2019s out of the way, pyzy are boiled Polish dumplings made from a combination of raw and boiled potatoes held together with flour and eggs and commonly stuffed with cheese, mushrooms, or meat (like these). Homespun and heavy, they\u2019re served as a filling main course often with fried onions on the side.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ethnojunkie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_4059-use-edited-1440.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ethnojunkie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_4059-use-edited-1440.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1440\" height=\"1080\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-19621\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ethnojunkie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_4059-use-edited-1440.jpg 1440w, https:\/\/ethnojunkie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_4059-use-edited-1440-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ethnojunkie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_4059-use-edited-1440-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ethnojunkie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_4059-use-edited-1440-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ethnojunkie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/IMG_4059-use-edited-1440-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1440px) 100vw, 1440px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe cake rolls are Rolada (like French roulade) \u2013 custardy raspberry above and hazelnut below.<\/p>\n<p>So maybe we didn\u2019t start with easy peasy, but we ended with a piece of cake! \ud83d\ude1c<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two more photos from my Greenpoint Polish explorations.
