The two couldn\u2019t be more different. There\u2019s no connection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen why are they cognates?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re not cognates. It\u2019s just a remarkable coincidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re trying to convince me that the Hungarian and Egyptian Arabic words \u2018goulash\u2019 and \u2018goulash\u2019 aren\u2019t cognates? You expect me to believe that?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, if you insist on cleaving to that rationale, you might want to consider chewing over \u2018galoshes\u2019 then, also part of this linguistic conundrum.
